One fine day, Beyonce uttered a remarkably stupid and inexplicable phrase: “I’m tired of being sexy.” CSS was quick to spot the utter magnificence of this statement and immediately translated into Brazilian (Cansei de Ser Sexy, or CSS) as their namesake (shortly thereafter, Justin Timberlake vowed to bring Beyonce’s relinquished sexiness back). CSS delivers a fusion of electro/indie/pop that makes you want to a) get your mangy ass to the dance-floor (see “Let’s Make Love and Listen to Death From Above”) or b) get reflective, in a synthesizer sort of way (see “Knife”). With their new album "Donkey" dropping July 21, I'm not cansei de ser sexy, and neither should you.
