Sean Penn! James Franco! Gus Van Sant! Gay rights! How could November released "Milk" NOT be incredibly epic? Normally I'd recommend taking in a flick about zombies or starring Philip Seymour Hoffman or whatever, however after watching this trailer sent my way by fellow Popsensist Meriam, I'm completely mesmerized by how easily Penn disappeared in his role of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man elected to public office in California. Honestly, I'm really not sure what to say about the film at this point other then to urge you to go see it. It seriously looks like a fantastically well put together movie with a great cast and legendary director and may give you some perspective on how hard gay activists had to work to get basic rights most people just take for granted. Sad really, but definitely eye opening.
